Friends of the Library Book Sale
The Friends of the Library annual Book Sale is scheduled for May 10-12. We are currently accepting donations of gently used books for all ages. The Friends are also looking for volunteers to help set-up and work the sale. Volunteer forms are available here and at the library. Please return forms to the library.
The strategic planning process is now complete. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the process by providing feedback, either through community leader interviews, focus groups or by completing the online survey. The 2018-2020 Strategic Plan is an invaluable tool that will guide us through the next three years. View the Strategic Plan here.
Spring Lifetime Learning
Registration is now open for spring Lifetime Learning. The semester kicks off on April 6th with “Giacomo Puccini & The Opera,” led by Dr. Robert Butts. Dr. Michael Norris and Dr. Salvatore Prisco both return in May, with “Virtual Metropolitan Art Museum Tours” and “Historical Controversies,” respectively. The cost for each series remains $25. Registration forms are available online and at the library.
Fold3 Military Database Now Available
The library is pleased to announce that it now has a subscription to Fold3, a genealogy database of original military records, including the stories, photos, and personal documents of the men and women who served. Members of our library can access this database either from on-site computers or from home. You can access the database using this link.
Gale Small Business Builder
Own a small business, or thinking of starting one? Help is here. Thanks to M.A.I.N. and the Morris County Economic Development Corporation we are pleased to offer Gale Small Business Builder. Click on Get Started on the page that opens. SBB is a step-by-step online planning tool for starting, managing and optimizing a business or non-profit.
Wireless printing now available
You can now print directly to a wireless printer from your mobile device when you are in the library. Please be sure to ask a reference librarian for help you if you are unsure how to do this.
Free Driver Education Program
Will you or someone in your family be getting a driver’s permit soon? Do you need help preparing for the DMV test? This online service will help your patrons prepare for the driver knowledge test and become safe drivers. Click here to access the site.
2018 Fuel Economy Guide Now Available
Thinking of purchasing a vehicle this holiday season? Concerned about fuel economy? The U.S Dept. of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency can help. The Guide and the website include updated fuel economy data for new and used passenger vehicles dating back to 1984, side-by-side vehicle comparisons, and fuel saving tips. The website also contains vehicle-specific air pollution emissions information and safety ratings. Click here for more information.
CLIP – Health Information Now Available
The Consumer Library Information Prescription (CLIP) provides current, reliable health information to patients and the public. Provided by the Morristown Medical Center’s Shinn-Lathrope Health Science Library, this service combines the consumer health and medical collections of the Atlantic Health System libraries with the wealth of materials available online through the National Library of Medicine.
